Dog Trumpet, one of Australia’s most unique bands with brothers Reg Mombassa and Peter O'Doherty began their musical careers in the ARIA Hall of Fame band Mental As Anything. The Mentals had 20 songs in the top 40 and a global hit with ‘Live It Up’ that only last Christmas hit #1 on many UK charts. In 2000, Reg and Pete split from the Mentals to pursue their own sound. Describing what that is can be tricky - an eclectic blend of rock, psychedelic folk and semi-abstract blues; whimsical, political, curious, intimate, scientific, erotic and witty. They are part of a long tradition of left-field songwriters and storytellers relative to the canon of work by such acts as the Kinks, Nick Lowe, Squeeze and John Prine. Reg, a recognised artists known for his work with Mambo along with graphics, posters, album covers including the artwork for Nimbin and Mullum Roots Festivals.
Robert Forster is an Australian singer-songwriter, guitarist and music critic. In December 1977 he co-founded The Go-Betweens, with fellow musician Grant McLennan. In 1980, Lindy Morrison joined the group on drums and backing vocals. In 1988, "Streets Of Your Town", co-written by McLennan and Forster, became the band's highest-charting hit in both Australia and the United Kingdom. The follow-up single, "Was There Anything I Could Do?", was a number-16 hit on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart in the United States. In December 1989 The Go-Betweens disbanded, and Forster began his solo music career from 1990. Almusic's Stewart Mason described him, as having "a knack for crafty pop songs along with the brooding ballads he contributed to the Go-Betweens' albums, and his solo career has shown a healthy mix of the two styles". From 2000 to 2006, The Go-Betweens reformed. In May 2001 "Cattle and Cane" was selected by APRA as one of the Top 30 Australian Songs of all time.
David Bridie is one of the true individualists and innovators of Australian music, carving a unique path through a shifting cultural landscape to remain true to his singular vision and ethics. From the global impact of his seminal 1980s and 1990s alt-pop groups Not Drowning, Waving and My Friend The Chocolate Cake to his ongoing work as a solo artist and soundtrack composer, the scale of David’s output and influence are matched by few Australian artists. His contribution was recognised by The Australia Council’s Don Banks Award in 2019, joining a long list of accolades that David has collected across three decades of commitment to his craft and his community.
Australian guitarist-songwriter-vocalist-producer, Jeff Lang has built a reputation for making startling music that is accomplished, intricate, gutsy, melodic and loaded with soul. Often taking unexpected turns, he has consistently inspired his audiences by creating a stylistically diverse catalog of over 25 albums. Alone In Bad Company, Jeff’s latest album, presents the most organic union of his talents and influences yet. It’s filled with exquisitely sung stories and melodies, demonstrating that Jeff is nothing if not a lover of song. Each time he steps up to take a solo, his hard‐won style is unmistakable – fluid but with an edge‐of‐the‐seat recklessness. Acoustic fingerpicking, slide guitar, electric lead, banjos and mandolins drop into place like puzzle pieces. Alone In Bad Company captures one of Australia’s most inspired musicians – and songwriters – at the peak of his exceptional powers.

Tamam Shud is an Australian psychedelic, progressive and surf rock band, which formed in Newcastle in 1964. The initial line-up were known as The Four Strangers with Eric Connell on bass guitar, Dannie Davidson on drums, Gary Johns on rhythm guitar and Alex "Zac" Zytnik on lead guitar. At the end of that year Johns was replaced by Lindsay Bjerre on guitar and vocals as they trimmed their name to the Strangers. By late 1965 they had become the Sunsets. They took the name Tamam Shud in late 1967 after replacing Connell with Peter Barron on bass guitar. The group released two albums, Evolution (1969) – after which Tim Gaze replaced Zytnik on lead guitar – and Goolutionites and the Real People (1970) before disbanding in 1972. After a lengthy hiatus they reformed in 1993 to release a third album, Permanent Culture in 1994, but disbanded again in 1995. Beginning in 2008 the group worked together periodically on new material: it took eight years to complete their fourth album, Eight Years of Moonlight (January 2016).
Unlikely, unexpected, unforgettable, unique, not to be missed! The musical uniting of Felicity Urquhart and Josh Cunningham (The Waifs) is as unscripted as it is unforeseen. The unpredictable unfolding of recent events has been the undoing of many as the world has adjusted to an unfamiliar reality. Undeterred and unsatisfied with being unproductive, Felicity and Josh unearthed an unpaved road forward and undertook the journey united, uncovering an uncanny musical unison as they left no song unsung. Until now, this union has remained undercover, unmasked only to select audiences under the age of 10. Both of Felicity’s daughters were unanimous in their unbridled praise. In the face of an uncertain future, music uncontrived and untainted by the demands of fashion will forever remain undefeated. Understated but never unsophisticated, unpretentious and unlike anything else, Felicity Urquhart and Josh Cunningham are poised to unleash songs and stories of undeniable beauty upon hearts and ears. Unless you uncork this fine wine, drink for yourself and understand, you will be unsatisfied and your life will be unhappy.

Very few artists can cradle your heart in their hands while they kick your ass, but after more than a decade touring with critically acclaimed indie-folk darlings Tinpan Orange, Emily Lubitz is striding out on her own. The six-foot tall front-woman with the gossamer voice has combined forces with Freyja Hooper on drums and Winona Miller on bass to create a new, darkly romantic vision. With that timeless, aching quality that only the great voices have, Lubitz is every singer’s favourite singer, a captivating live performer who has won the hearts of audiences around the world, and yet she is more priestess than popstar, creating her own iconography that sears itself into the listener’s imagination. Lubitz tells us stories about everyday things, but her voice transfigured them into works of beauty, like a messy bedroom suffused with golden morning light: “Sometimes we just need to pretend things are better than they are. Remember how it used to be. Sometimes we share pain that seems bottomless and we can only acknowledge it in a glance, while we try to keep it together, get the kids to bed, share a beer and put a record on.” Lubitz is a veteran of the scene, having performed on some of the world’s biggest stages and collaborated with the likes of Paul Kelly, Martha Wainwright, Clare Bowditch and the album she recorded with old friend Mama Kin, and yet her solo work is imbued with the raw energy of a breakthrough artist. Lubitz prowls the stage with the gravitas of a giant Edith Piaf stalking through a post-apocalyptic Laurel Canyon, with her friends from East Brunswick in tow.
Fearsomely funky, grippingly groovy, and radiantly retro, The Soul Movers – the lovechild of powerhouse vocalist, Lizzie Mack, and OG-Red-Wiggle, Murray Cook - are all of the above, as is the groovy soul, powerful pop, and rockin’ country bump in “Dumb Luck”, their fourth album over ten years, together. Welcome to a world where even badly broken hearts do mend, good lovers get to love again, the world is still real with decent people being friendly to each other. And if your day’s gone bad, may imaginary butterflies kiss the top of your head so we can all get happy and lucky again. Featuring much-loved legend, Murray Cook, and led by long-Legged vocalist, Lizzie Mack, The Soul Movers musical tour-de-force across a hip and funky retro musical spectrum, recreating the best sounds from the 1960s and 70s, and making them “one of the most exciting live show and festival acts on the touring circuit today” (Glenn A Baker). Evolving with over a decade of experience and collaboration, the outfit enjoys a stable union and the creation of three albums for ABC Music / UMA: ‘Testify!’, ‘Bona Fide’, ‘Evolution’. Roger Foley-Fogg , formerly known by the pseudonym Ellis D Fogg and later by his name Roger Foley, is an Australian artist, lighting designer, and lumino kinetic artist. In the 1960s he started designing rock concerts and psychedelic light shows. Producer and promoter John Pinder arranged his first light-show/concert in Melbourne, "The Electric Blues Thing" featuring Doug Parkinson in Focus and The Semblence of Dignity, with Fogg providing the "psychedelic light-show", at the Carlton Cinema in 1968. His experimental light shows incorporating his Light Sculpture – Lumino Kinetic sculpture through to the 1970s were precursors to present multi-media installation. Foley was one of a group of artists who worked and exhibited at the Yellow House Artist Collective in Potts Point. The Yellow House was founded by artist Martin Sharp, and between 1970 and 1973 was a piece of living art and a mecca to pop art. The canvas was the house itself and almost every wall, floor, and ceiling became part of the gallery. Many well-known artists, including George Gittoes, Brett Whiteley, Peter Kingston, Albie Thoms, and Greg Weight, helped to create the multi-media performance art space that may have been Australia's first 24-hour-a-day happening. In 2022 Foley Fogg was engaged to produce Light Shows for Byron Bay Bluesfest 2022 and for Nimbin Roots Festival 2022.

Joeys Coop sing songs of fractured family, loss, the oddities of 21st century life, the burdens of over-leveraged real estate, mid life existential angst, memories of landscape lost and mediations on the lives of friends gone wrong.
Topaz Lyon is the solo project of Australian indie-folk singer-songwriter, Alaia Harvie. With poetic lyrics, warm vocals and acoustic and electric guitar, it’s music which brings you in close and takes you on a journey. Think Gillian Welch meets Mazzy Star, with some Dylan-esque story-telling. In her previous band, Ichabod’s Crane, Alaia (also known as Charity) performed at Peat’s Ridge Music Festival (Syd), Adelaide Fringe Festival, Ladyfest (Bris), and Brisbane Powerhouse. After a long hiatus from music, she then released the album, Luminescent as Topaz Lyon, in 2022. Her new work incorporates lyricism and soundscapes which explore inter-generational stories, kinship with nature, interpretation of truth and the collective creation of our present journey. Tranquil and ambient but with undercurrents of unresolved tension, she is fearless in revealing herself through her songs.
